The only bush/shrub size legumes I'm growing are pigeon pea. I'm interested in growing some more shrub and tree size legumes. I've not done any good with tree lucerne in the past, but will try again sometime. Another I will try is icecream bean.

Anybody got any other suggestions or seeds they might want to swap for something I might have. I guess one thing about legumes is that it is all well and good swapping seeds, but without the innoculant, there is probably not a great deal of point

Duff - am familiar with greenharvest. Have bought much from them previously but other than pigeon pea and tree lucerne they don't have much in the way of what I'm talking about.

My point about the inoculant was simply that if we share legume seeds here, not much point if they are varieties requiring an inoculant to nitrogen fix properly.

Tagasaste grows to 5mtr. What type were you after. And with sharing seeds all you have to do is get some soil around there plants. Or better still get them to dig a small plant up.

We just tried to buy the special Western Australian green manure mix from Eden Seeds. They made a special mix for us because of quarantine and now it seems that since printing their 2010 catalogue, they now can;t send the special W.A. mix to W.A. any more... In fact we have seed packets we are selling here from mid last year that in the 2010 catalogue are not for W.A...

Isn't there a seed place in Geraldton that does chemical free seeds? I'm sure they had heaps of green manure seeds but i can't remember the name

I have tree lucerne growing quite well here in drought stricken midwest they are about 4 years old and still doing well I will have a surplus of seeds in spring if anyone is keen. I also have Old man salt bush that is flowering right now this is the best for wind breaks/fodder the lot I reckon these both are a great all round permacultre plants.

The permaculture nursery in Geraldton (Yilgarn) is fantastic, Julie is a great source of knowledge and may I say inspiration. I have a lot of trees and plants form her nursery.
