Hi all, Found these growing on my block back in June. Not sure if they are safe to eat or not but do remember picking very similar mushrooms on my uncles farm as a youngster. Im no expert but they look like ones I had on my property. Look exactly like normal mushrooms but dont have the strong mushroom smell. Peel some skin off and cut the stem, leave it for a few minutes and if those exposed areas get a yellow tinge on them they are not for eating. They wont kill you but they'll make you sick if you eat enough. Chances are you wouldnt eat enough because they dont taste like real mushies. I tried them a few years back when I thought they were real mushrooms and the first mouthfull was enough to know they werent. check this out too: http://www.agric.wa.gov.au/objtwr/impor ... s_2011.pdf |

Thanks for the tip and the link Oldute. Hopefully they will be back next year and I will be able to check them out more closely. |
