New Wicking Bed Questions

I have finally had a chance to get one of the Wicking beds up and running.

I will let the video explain it best.

I already had them made up F&F, but can always add a tap at the bottom later.

I've used upside down buckets in wicking bed and they have worked. As long as there is enough of a wick around them.

I didn’t think of buckets, was looking for some thing sturdy that the rock couldn't crush. I suppose if you bought good quality buckets not the 77c ones from B's that would work.

Plastic maggi gravy buckets. Strong, food safe and the local cafe will throw out a heap.

Hi no resting wicking beds are simpley a water efficiant dirt garden they are not some super efficiant growing system you still have to lime them dig in blood and bone, dynamic lifter ect
Just treat them like a dirt garden rest them with a green manure crop occasionaly
