JUST MADE A CHOOK FEEDER AND WATER FEEDER they are working really well and the 20 litre tank inside the shed stays at a nice temp

Thanks Ben I can't remember the company but I just looked up nipples and it comes up with heapsi think they come from South Australia there is two types gravity and water pressure nipples
And the three chooks I have are Blue /black mottle wyndottes they haven't laid yet I feed them vegetarian crumble and scraps

Hi Ben i got a few pictures of my chooks and i just put together my first Bath tub wicking Bed today
all i have to do is put some goodies in it

Wiggles I only got the smaller box that has 500 how many should put in the GB and do I just put them on top of media?

Yep just put them on top of the media. I started with a handful out of my worm farm in each bed and they have built up their numbers very quickly

Another option is to half bury a 20 litre bucket (the type with lid) in the bed. Drill holes in it's base first, put some bedding in the bottom along with your worms and treat it as a worm farm by putting scraps that the chooks don't need/want in (I tend to separate out banana peels, tea bags, coffee grinds, and vege peelings if there are to many for the chooks).

Worm juice will go direct into your wicking bed and you get to use it as a worm farm, worms will still migrate out into the bed as well. Next time you set up a wicking bed just split the contents of the bucket to seed the new one. No more buying worms :joy:
