Only problem at the moment is they have started mining in our area. The ground water is no longer a good option.

What is the easiest/cheapest way to find out how deep the water table is at your joint? Is there a map or something that can be accessed? Stupid question?

I think there are maps but not sure where. Easy way is to ring a company that drills them in your area and ask how deep. They should give you the info as they charge by depth so they need to tell you how deep they have to go. Other way is to ask some one that is close how deep they had to go.
