A fertilizer called EM

Has anyone on this forum ever used or heard of a fertilizer called EM - effective micro-organisms. It is organic and is suppose to be great stuff. I want to try it but I need more information on it's use first.

Hey there, I have heard of it in some composting circles however I have never used it. I wouldn't necessarily see it as having great value as a fertilizer ( there are many comparatively cheap organic fertilizers out there) but as a compost inoculant some people were using it. Generally in healthy soil there are already plenty of micro organisms to keep everything in balance perhaps at less than an optimum rate (than proposed by EM manufacturers) but generally enough to produce healthy plants

I have used it, but it is not a fertiliser, it is more something to revitilse the soil.

I would not nessarly recommend it, as you can get the same effect using nettle tea, and EM is very exspensive.
