Who Are We

Backyard Farming is an offshoot of Backyard Aquaponics Pty Ltd. Backyard Aquaponics is a leading edge aquaponics company based in Western Australia. Originally started by Joel Malcolm as a means to provide information packages to people, who were interested in learning more about the subject, the company has now grown and changed quite a bit since those early days. The company has now become an amalgamation of many different people, who are passionate about aquaponics, about growing food, sustainability, self sufficiency, and furthering the spreading of information, about these subjects.

Backyard Farming came about because of a common passion in sustainability and self sufficiency and a motivation to share information and encourage others to do more for themselves. We have a wide range of contributors from around the world to produce this magazine, article contributors from the U.S., Australia, South Africa, the Philipines and New Zealand makes for a diverse mix of informaiton. The layout of the magazine has been done by Dave in South Africa. For those who don't know, Dave is also responsible for the deisign and layout of the Backyard Aquaponics Magazine, he helps bring all of this to life.
